In the Junior Olympic Qualifiers held at CFA on September 10-11, 2011, eight CFA fencers qualified to compete in the Junior Olympics, to be held in Salt Lake City in February, 2012. The Junior Olympics are the National Championships for Cadet and Junior age divisions. In foil, Anya MIchaelsen and Name Withheld qualified for Junior and Name Withheld for Cadet (Anya was already qualified through being nationally ranked in Cadet). In women’s epee, Name Withheld and Emily Lien qualified for Junior and Sarah Simmons qualified for Cadet. In men’s saber. Douglas Daniels qualified for Junior and cadet and Nathaniel Lilly for cadet, while Wade Goodrich qualified in junior and cadet epee.

Charlottesville Fencing Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the residents throughout Central Virginia about the sport of fencing, developing educational programs that serve both adults and our youth, schools, home school communities and the under-privileged, as well fostering the widespread growth of fencing.
