CFA is pleased to welcome Pia Simon to our club. Pia,13, is spending a month in Charlottesville during her summer holiday. In France, Pia is a strong youth foilest from Bordeaux, finishing 34th (out of 260 fencers) in last year’s C.E.P Marathon du Fleuret in Paris. In addition to relaxing on the beach, swimming (a lot) and practicing her english with CFAers, Pia took the Gold medal (with Gavin Meade and Anya Michaelsen) in the Comonwealth Foil Team event. We all wish her the best and hope she’ll come back next summer.
