August 1st, the first day of the 2011-2012 season, finds CFA with five nationally ranked fencers. In women’s foil, Anya Michaelsen comes in at 14th in Y14 and 47th in Cadet; Dorothy Carney is 15th in Vet 50; Name Withheld is 24th in Vet 40 and Name Withheld is 49th in Y14. On the men’s side, Name Withheld is ranked 19th in Y12 foil.

Charlottesville Fencing Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the residents throughout Central Virginia about the sport of fencing, developing educational programs that serve both adults and our youth, schools, home school communities and the under-privileged, as well fostering the widespread growth of fencing.
